Skin Care – How To Take Care Of The Skin You’re In
Take care of your skin now and you’ll reap the rewards later. Celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Aniston and Nicole Kidman have flawless skin. Legendary beauty, Sophia Loren gives meaning to the phrase “aging with grace”.
Of course these beauties have an advantage that most Americans do not have – large amounts of money. Many of us cannot afford to spend large amounts of money for beauty products. Some celebrities are known to spend up to $500 on small jars of “fountain of youth” type elixirs.
So what can the average American do in their quest for healthy looking skin? Stick to two basic practices:
Pick the Best Skin Care Products For You
The biggest factor in achieving healthy skin is to utilize products that your skin loves. In order to do this, you need to understand your skin type. Do you have dry skin and therefore need dry skin care products or do you have oily skin?
Knowing your skin type will narrow you playing field. There are many, many products on the shelves at your local drug store or in your higher-end department stores. You’ve probably heard terms such as Alpha-hydroxy Acids (AHAs), Beta-hydroxy Acid (Salicylic Acid), Retinol, etc. Cosmetic manufacturers use these propaganda-like words to sell their products. Do these terms really mean anything? How do they help your skin?
The simply fact is that you don’t need to be a scientist to find the best products. Let common sense be your guide. Do you know someone, who has used the products before? Did they find it helpful? These are questions that you should ask when selecting products.
After suffering from acne and oily skin as a teenager and now dry skin – I have tried every acne skin care product, oily skin care product and dry skin care product on the shelf. I have also tried several natural/organic skin care products. Some work and some don’t.
Over the years, I have developed my list of the best of the best skin care products including acne skin care products, dry/oily skin care products, natural skin care products and anti-aging skin care products.
Make Your Beautification Ritual, Routine
Once you find the best skin care products, develop a skin care treatment/beautification routine. If your routine is in the morning or evening, then give yourself about 15 to 30 minutes to engage yourself without interruption.
Take pictures of your starting point so that you can track your progress each week.
Consult with your local day spa esthetician for more skin care ideas.
Beauty is only skin deep but a beautiful heart and mind, deserve beautiful skin.

Using different creams on your skin can actually do more harm than good, as a matter of fact is much better to use just creams from the same brand name product. But the problem is that most companies use cheap chemicals in their products, which is not healthy for your skin even if it cover up wrinkles.
You may like your cream because it moisturizes your skin and makes it feel good, but be careful, because most beauty products use chemicals, parabens, petrolatum, mineral oil, alcohol and other substances that cause side effects.
For example there are many creams that use alcohol as ingredient to cover up imperfections and wrinkles, that may work as a quick fix, but in reality you are harming your skin because alcohol drys your skin.

Enhance Your Natural Beauty With Organic Cosmetics
Women begin experimenting with beauty products in their childhood years. Most girls can't wait to reach the magical age where we can begin to use makeup. From trying on Mom's high heels to smearing on her lipstick, we want to do what we can to look beautiful. Organic cosmetics can show off the beauty you already have and help keep your body healthier.
Your skin acts like an armor surrounding and protecting your internal organs. It acts as a first line of defense by putting up a stop sign to dangerous bacteria and infectious organisms. Yet the same way it acts as a stop sign keeping guard as the bad, when using cosmetics, we can inadvertently apply things we shouldn't directly to our skin.
When we do that, the skin acts like a sponge and soaks the ingredients, such as topical medicines right down into our body. While using a topical medicine every now and then to fix an ailment might not be such a big deal to the skin, repeated use of some cosmetics can be.
When you apply cosmetics, you're not simply applying it to the top layer of your skin. Your body does absorb the cosmetics you wear. That means that if you choose cosmetics with questionable ingredients, those ingredients go below the surface. Think chemicals in cosmetics aren't really a cause for concern? If you don't use organic cosmetics, take a look at what you do use. Pay attention to the list.
Would you cover your face in antifreeze? No? What about putting on some brake fluid on your face instead. Don't like the sound of that either? Yet, this ingredient is found in some cosmetic foundations. It goes by the name propylene glycol.
Despite the names these ingredients have, in the formula they all add up to the same answer. Chemicals that are bad for your health and bad for your skin. Did you know at least one ingredient in straight from the store cosmetics could give you contact dermatitis that's chemically inducted?
Don't assume contact dermatitis is always isolated to a small reddened area signifying an allergic reaction. It can vary in severity and range and give a skin reaction that will cover the majority of the body, bring on fever, chills and warrant a trip to the emergency room.
When you use organic cosmetics, you're using ingredients that do not contain the harmful chemicals your skin cannot protect you from. What you're getting are safe, gentle ingredients that actually help your skin do the job it was designed to do. With the safer alternative to regular cosmetics, you'll not only gain healthier skin but peace of mind as well. Life is tough enough on your skin. Give it the cosmetics that will help and not harm it.

Laser hair removal and electrolysis is the newest method to treat unwanted hair. These techniques are quite hassle-free and the course of action would not precede more than a day. Electrolysis utilizes an uncontaminated needle that is popped into every hair follicle. A minute electrical current is later distributed to the bottom of the follicle to demolish the hair augmentation cells.
Electrolysis is to be accomplished with much care and the result is a glowing hair-free skin. Diode laser hair removal is yet another hair-removal technique, widespread these days with much applause. There is totally no pain, and this way of hair removal can be carried out in a beauty salon also.
On the other hand, many people prefer temporary hair removal, as it is less expensive. Other than that, electrolysis and laser hair removal comes under the treatment mode. You can satisfy yourself by waxing your arms and legs to attend a party. Shaving and tweezing can also be done if you are ready to bear some pain.

Assessment of Mark Cosmetics Brands
Mark Cosmetics is a line of beauty products owned and operated by Avon but aimed at young women and teenagers. The products are formulated for younger skins, the colors are targeted toward a younger demographic and the prices are somewhat lower. For a clear review of Mark's products, including a review of the company itself, keep reading.
Price
Most individual Mark Cosmetics products are priced under $10. Because they're focused on younger women, the company is going for a lower price point. Overall, the out-of-pocket expense is very affordable.
Ease of Use
The majority of Mark products are standard-issue - eye shadows, blush, lip gloss, bronzer, foundation, cleansers and a few bath and body products. They may not be state-of-the-art innovations, but they're simple to use and very straightforward.
Makeup Quality
Despite the low cost, Mark products are comparable to most high-end drugstore brands or lower-end department store brands. Buyers are getting Avon quality, but geared, packaged and priced for a younger customer base.
In particular, their line of skin care products (which are non-comedogenic, fragrance free and oil free) are a great value. The cleanser, toner and moisturizers are all priced under $10, but they've each been featured in Glamour, Seventeen and YM as great buys and desirable products.
The Best and Worst
Next to the skin care products, probably the best find at Mark are the mascaras. Not too goopy, easy to apply and light enough for a teen or young women. They don't run, they don't clump and they're age appropriate. In short, at $7 a pop, they're a great buy.
The products to avoid are the heavy liquid foundations. Most teens and young women simply don't need a heavy foundation - it clogs the pores, covers up their beautiful skin and often causes more problems than it covers. Instead, try the tinted moisturizer, which provides light coverage without weighing young skin down.
The Mark Company
Mark products are sold by independent sales reps, so a lot of your customer service experience is going to depend on the quality of your rep. Many customers also don't like the pressure to buy or start selling the product themselves, so look for a representative who's laid back and comfortable.
Conclusion
In short, Mark Cosmetics are a great buy for their price point, but the sales model can be a big drawback for customers who are either not looking for a personal sales experience or want to be able to simply walk into a store to purchase their product rather than waiting for mail-order.

Cosmetics For Beauty
Some people are so obsessed with beauty that they spend their last penny on creams or put on make- up to achieve different looks at different times. These days, it's not surprising to see beauty - conscious women doing those tried and tested tips like putting mayonnaise on the hair, cucumbers on the eyes and even milk or eggs on the face. All these for the sake of beauty.
Undoubtedly, cosmetics has played an important role in women's lives. Superficial or not, most spend endless hours being scrubbed, massaged, exfoliated and made up like a butterfly. You have beauty products for having lovely eyes, sweet fragrances, oil-free foundations, dyes, anti-ageing creams, moisturizers, powders, lipsticks, among others.
"But one should be careful," explains dermatologist Glibenette Tapang - Panlaqui. "Contact dermatitis to cosmetics is common nowadays due to the wide range of products available in the market. The leading cause of skin reactions due to cosmetics is fragrances. Other causes are preservatives such as Bronopol, lanolin, and woolwax alcohols."
The severity of the skin reactions, she says, vary from person to person or from time to time for the same person, due to the conditions of the skin at the time of exposure to a given concentration of the irritant.
"It is therefore advisable to buy products which are labeled hypo-allergenic or non-comedogenic and do a patch test before using the products on the skin to make sure one is not allergic to it, " Dr. Panlaqui adds.
Cosmetic ingredients vary. They come from aloe vera, wheat grain products, essential oils and extracts derived from plants. One of the newest are florabeads which are ideal for facial scrub.
Evidence of mechanical exfoliation dates back as 3,000 BC when honey and salt constituted the main cleansing ingredients of the Egyptian religious community. According to data, exfoliation acids have a long history of use like the baths taken by Cleopatra and Marie Antoinette.
Aside from the scrubs, cosmetics and treatment are reputed to beautify and minimize ageing effects. Hair cosmetics strengthen the hair and scalp as well as color it; lipstick makes one look more attractive; powder makes the skin glow and rosy; and fragrance leaves an enchanting scent. Indeed, the growing complexity of today's market combine make-up and treatment using cosmetics that don't harm the skin.
What are the precautions to take? Don't forget the patch test. Keep away from the sun, use an umbrella or a sunblock lotion. Throw away old make-up. Read labels just like you would food and medicine labels.
Dr. Panlaqui also warned about the following cosmetics and its harmful ingredients:
In axilliary deodorants and antiperspirants, aluminum salts like aluminum chloride or zinc slats (e.g. zinc chloride act as a primary irritant. In roll-ons, the quaternary ammonium compounds may produce allergic contact dermatitis.
In hair dyes, those containing PPDA or paraphenylenediamine may act as sensitizer. Hair bleaches peroxide ad ammonia.
In lipsticks, the perfumes used and di- and tetrabomo -fluorescein in the dyes may cause sensitization reactions.
In eye make-up, be wary of preservatives and perfumes.
In sunscreens, keep away from paraaminobenzoicacid and its esters.
In depigmenting creams, beware of those containing hydroquinone.
Well, while cosmetics really makes a whole lot of difference in enhancing a woman's beauty, there's still no substitute for a radiant and sincere smile.

Health Benefits Of Celery Juice
There are various health benefits derived from celery and its juice. The medical virtues of celery were first described by the Greeks Discorides and Pliny. In the early middle ages celery juice was very beneficial for curing ailments such as stones, constipation, menstrual problems and for health disorders of the liver and gall bladder.
The green leaves and stem and the bulbous root of celery are all extremely rich in active ingredients that make celery a very important medicinal plant and very beneficial to health. There is a well balanced content of the basic minerals, vitamins and nutrients, but in addition there are important concentrations of plant hormones and the essential oils that give celery its strong and characteristic smell. These oils have a specific effect on the regulation of the nervous system, and have a great calming influence. It is the presence of the essential oils which makes celery special. These are also found in the seeds and, if available, they too can be added to the juice.
Celery is used for its strong stimulating and beneficial effect on a weak sexual system, but as is usual with plant therapies the normally active person does not have to fear an uncontrollable upsurge. Plant therapy tends to make the system normal. Like beet there is also a general health tonic effect.
The strong diuretic (water removing) powers of celery enable it to be used in the control of health problems such as arthritis and rheumatism. Sufferers cannot have too much and may consume the vegetable cooked or raw, or in juice form which is the most health effective treatment of all.
A tablespoonful of honey in celery juice, sipped slowly, will very effectively reduce the appetite if taken before a meal, and makes a delightful drink. You can take the same mixture as a nightcap when it will help you to relax into a soothing and restful sleep.
Those who take the juice who have in the past suffered from a tendency towards stones in the gall bladder or the kidneys usually find that these painful deposits do not form again. It seems likely that this effect is related to the anti-arthritic properties of the juice.

Hair Straighteners – Getting Straight to the Point
With so many innovations in technology in this day and age, many of us take things for granted. In terms of beauty, for some women it could be their simple easy-fix solution may well be the lip plumping lip gloss for that immediate pout; or that lash extending mascara for the doe-eyed look that is their ultimate beauty fix. For others it could be hair straighteners to achieve the 'frizz to sleek' look in a matter of seconds.
However, women have long had a love-hate relationship with curls for many years - if you've got them you don't want them, whereas if your hair is poker straight you'd do anything for a natural wave. One hundred years ago, you probably wouldn't believe the extreme lengths ladies went to, to keep their hair straight. You may have heard of the desperate few who literally tried to iron their hair - with a domestic iron! Hair straightening was never an easy task and many a head of hair, and scalp, were ruined by some of the early methods.
There is much evidence to suggest that straightening combs and hot irons were available as far back as 1872, with one of the very first implements developed to straighten hair called the Straightening Comb. It was also around this time that inventor Marcel Grateau started using heated rods to straighten or style hair. This tool helped straighten the hair and caused less damage than other hair straightening techniques.
From the 1880s mastering hair styling techniques caught on; in 1880 French hairdresser Alexandre Godefroy attached a hood to the chimney pipe of a gas stove and created the world's first hair-dryer. In 1905, German hairdresser Charles Nessler invented the permanent wave for those who wanted curls and in 1906 Simon E. Monroe patented a hair straightener that comprised of metallic teeth that were combed through the hair. In 1909 Issac K. Shero patented more advanced hair straighteners, which were composed of two flat irons that were heated and pressed together.
Again in contrast, by the 1930s masses of women wanted a more bouncy look to their hair, which was helped by the introduction of the "cold wave", which took only two hours at the salon to achieve.
Over the years, the use of different metals and materials has been tried and tested for straighteners and curling tongs alike. Aluminium was used earlier on and metal was obviously used along the way too. Nowadays most manufacturers use ceramic and tourmaline - both of which give great results.
Now into the 21st century there are numerous ways to create the hair style of your dreams. The boom in straightening methods has bombarded salons with choice, from permanent techniques to chemical, Japanese or thermal methods.
But whichever route is chosen to achieve those luscious sleek locks, remember, Shirley Temple made a living out of her curls, so you don't have to be too straight-laced!
