Beauty Tips for Women Over 50
Beautiful skin, a beautiful body and a beautiful sense of style does not have an end once you hit 50s. There’s very little difference between the recommended diet and exercise habits for a 20-year-old and that of a 50-year-old. In fact, the only difference is that a healthy diet and regular exercise are more important than ever. During the aging process, the key to keeping your body properly functioning and in shape is to eat healthy and stay active.
At 50 and older, most adults are still capable of completing most exercises. Exercising can mean taking daily 40 minutes walk with your partner or alone, enjoying exercise videos at home. Botox injections can ease wrinkles in the upper third of the face. Chemical peels are effective in removing fine lines and smoothing skin, especially around the eyes and mouth. Wrinkle fillers can plump up your skin and erase lines.
Women over 50 usually look better with a cream lipsticks rather than a matte or gloss and in a pinch your lipsticks can double as a blush. Lips tend to lose definition and color, and become thinner with age. One of the great makeup tricks for aging skin is using a neutral lip liner to add plumpness with a sheer lipstick to avoid feathering (we like berries and browns). Use a lip liner to help define lips. Try a lip liner whose color is very close to the natural shade of your lips and both line and fill in the lips with this pencil prior to using your lip color. Carry a stash of different lipsticks in daring shades in your purse for different occasions, outfits, and moods. Use makeup to accentuate your positive qualities and make yourself feel great.
Women Over 50 and Beauty Tips
1. Using heavy makeup and powders does not compliment dryer skin.
2. Heavily powdered skin will make your skin look matte and dry.
3. Just as the pigment in our hair changes and it turns grey, the melanin in our skin changes also.
4. Don't give into the idea that you have to own every new color that is fashionable for a particular season.
5. Use a humidifier. Use moisturizing soaps and lotions.
6. Good nutrition helps the body repair skin.
7.Drinking lots of water helps hydrate skin from the inside out.
8. Use products with SPF 15 or higher, and both UVB and UVA protection.
Skin Care Advice at Any Age
We've become a society obsessed with our looks.
It's been noted that we spend more on beauty products in the West than we do on education.
Why are we so obsessed? Because it's easier and more affordable than ever before.Anti-aging skincare technology has progressed leaps and bounds. We know more about the skin today than we ever did. There are advanced skincare products that can erase years, and of course, the plastic surgeon has perfected his trade such that procedures are easier and cheaper than ever before.
Are we justified in our obsession?
They say that beauty is only skin deep, and while I believe this to be true it's also important to do what feels right for you. If keeping up appearances gets you through the day then, by all means, that's what you need to do, however I must add that I'm not a fan of going under the knife. With the huge advances made in skincare products today, I'd much prefer taking the less invasive route.
Here's a few age related tips and remedies that will help boost your skin's appearance at any age without needles and knives.
20 Something
Your skin is at its peak of beauty in your twenties, however nurture its beauty and always use at least an SPF 30 sunscreen. Of course this should continue at any age.
Avoid oily makeup and cover ups. Use an oil free moisturizer every day. This is also a good time to begin using an eye cream under the eye area at night.
Try using products that contain green tea which have shown to help reduce the risk of skin cancer.
30 Something
Your 30's is when your skin is beginning to become a bit drier and sun damage may begin to appear. It's time to start using thicker moisturizing creams so as to lock in high contents of moisture. Continue with eye creams at night and use your sunscreen religiously. Also, skin bleaching products may need to be used to diminish dark spots from sun damage.
Hint: Put your moisturizer on over damp skin. This helps lock in more moisture.
40 Something
It's time to kick it up another notch. Your forties is when your skin loses much of it tightness. It may begin to look dull and your pores may become larger. Blotches, freckles, age spots, discoloration, and changes in skin color may become much more visible. Retinoids, anti-oxidants and alpha hydroxy acids can improve the look of your skin and your 40's would be a good time to begin using them. Of course it's essential that you continue using a thick moisturizer and eye serums on a daily basis.
Home microdermabrasion kits are also an option that can result in a smoother more even appearing skin texture and tone while rejuvenating your skin's texture and color.
50 Something
Changes in your skin have reached high gear. Menopause has assisted in the loss of Estrogen which is what has given your skin its elasticity and kept it hydrated, however since those estrogen levels have diminished, you will begin seeing wrinkles form around your eyes, drooping eyelids and expression lines around the mouth and forehead.
Begin using anti-aging or wrinkle reducing formulas such as vitamin A (Retinol) or Glycolic acid products. Retin A has proven to reduce fine lines and wrinkles while improving skin texture, skin tone and color, as well as your skin's hydration levels.
Glycolic acid will trigger new formation of collagen to plump cells and reduce wrinkles on the skin's surface. Post menopausal women can also use a cream containing progesterone that mayimprove skin elasticity and firmness.
60 Something
By age 60 all types of collagen are significantly below their youthful levels. There are, however wonderful hydrating creams that contain Alpha Hydroxy acids (Glycolic acids), soy, green tea andretinol (vitamin A) which your skin will need now that it is drier and showing major signs of age. The alpha Hydroxy acids will help reduce droopy skin and the retinol will reduce your fine lines.
60 Plus
Your skin's texture will become visibly less smooth and you will most likely begin to see age spots. You'll appreciate the early care you've given to your skin because the signs of aging will be minimal, however, if you haven't started early you'll clearly notice the effects of neglect.
While it's never too late to take care of your skin the damage you already have will be difficult to reduce without special medical treatments such as Botox or perhaps surgical procedures. All the above should continue to be applied but it is wise to consult your physician on advanced treatments.
If you haven't yet reached 60, the best skin care advice is to follow a good skin care regimen at an early age. It's an easy habit to get into and best of all, you'll thank yourself later on.
Skin Care Products and the Ingredients Present in It
These days the market of anti-aging has seen a rapid increase in its profits which includes the selling of products like skin care, physical fitness, hormone replacements, supplements, herbs, vitamins and nutrition. Alternative holistic approaches and medicines have acted as an incubator to all those advances which were earlier ignored by conventional medicine. The want for the extension of life has been the ultimate painstaking ingredient of anti-aging. This desire for the extension of life has acted as the basis for all the researches which are carried out on anti-aging in order to slow it down, repair it and reverse the process of natural senescence so as to enhance health and the quality of human life. There are a number of ways by which we can prevent the problem of aging. A large number of skin care products are available in the market which contains a number of ingredients which are useful to our body and skin. These nutrients perform a number of operations which are being discussed here. Some of them are by enhancing the production of certain important hormones like growth hormones, DHEA, testosterone, androgens and oestrogens.
DHEA is basically a sex enhancing hormone, growth or peptide hormone is responsible for the production and the growth of cells in our body. The growth hormone enhances the calcium retention, in creases and strengthens the amount of minerals in the bones. By making use of sacromere hyperplasia it leads to an increase in the mass in the muscles, it promotes lipolysis, enhances protein synthesis, stimulates the growth and production of each and every internal organ apart from the brain, it plays an important part in the fuel homeostasis, it lowers the intake of glucose by liver and increases the quantity of gluconeogenesis and leads to the stimulation of our immune system. Testosterone is also a sex enhancing hormone.
Then there are antioxidants which are rich in resveratrol, vitamins, co-enzyme Q10, glutathione, etc. It also consists of Antiglycators, like aminoguanidine, carnosine, cross link-breakers like Alagebrium and tenisletam which are highly beneficial to the body. Then there are Methylators like SAMe and TMG, nootropics like memantine, centrophenoxine, bacopa, ginkgo biloba and piracetam, anti-agers like melatonin, caloric limitation mimetics, like Metformin and Deprenyl, improving the way we live i.e. our lifestyle which includes brain exercises, calorie restriction, hormesis/stress, health education and physical exercise, technologies like genetic technology and nanotechnology, cure for age-related diseases like osteoporosis,Parkinson's, Alzheimer's disease, use of anti-aging cosmetics for the skin like face lifts, collagen, Isolagen, Botox, undergo therapies like immune therapies, cell therapy,
Skin Care Information – Who Do You Trust?
Skin care information is easy to come by. Reliable skin care info, on the other hand, is another thing entirely.
When you walk through the cosmetics area of a department store, each sales person behind the counter is telling you their product is the best. Then you see print ads with celebrity endorsements. And they too are telling you their product is the best.
Are they all right? I don't think so and I doubt if you think so either.
Cosmetic surgeons will recommend Botox, collagen injections, chemical peels, dermabrasion and other procedures that they can charge you for in their offices. Some of them have designed their own line of products, which they will, of course, say are the best.
In this article I want to share with you what products I think you should avoid and what procedures can cause adverse reactions.
So, here's my skin care info.
Exfoliation is bad!
Whether you have acne, blemishes, scarring or wrinkles, many "beauty experts" recommend exfoliation in their skin care info.
Dermatologists don't have a problem with it. Cosmetic surgeons use similar procedures. They all say that the process removes a layer of dead skin, exposing a new layer that will be smoother and "fresher" looking.
So, why is it bad?
First, the whole idea is silly. The epidermis, the outermost layer of your face and body, is composed entirely of dead skin-cells laid together in a brick and mortar fashion, held together by keratin, hyaluronic acid and other proteins.
If you do not bathe regularly, dead cells can build up and block the pores, causing pimples and blemishes. But excessive scrubbing causes redness, itching, and irritation, scarring and underlying damage that will eventually become wrinkles.
Like dermabrasion and chemical peels, regular exfoliation increases your sensitivity to UV radiation from the sun. Hopefully, that's enough said.
Petrolatum is bad!
In skin care info provided by cosmetic companies, I have seen them say that petrolatum is an effective moisturizer and good for your skin's health.
In skin care information from dermatologists, I have seen them suggest that large amounts interfere with the skin's natural rejuvenation process.
In customer reviews, I have read about pimples and break-outs. Complaints range from "eventually makes my skin drier than ever" to "feels too greasy".
Cosmetic companies could correct these problems if they would stop using petrolatum, mineral oils and other byproducts of gasoline production.
For healthy skin care info, I turn to the experts on natural compounds. These,in fact, are moisturizing and can be used on any skin-type without the risk of excessive oiliness or dryness. These natural products include grape seed and jojoba oil.
For weekly deep cleansing, clay extracts "suck" dirt out of the pores and absorb excessive oils, without causing irritation.
To prevent and counter the signs of aging, coenzyme Q10, vitamin E, honey and other natural antioxidants will prevent and repair free radical damage, the underlying cause of all of the outward signs of age.
I could fill a book with healthy skin care information, but that's enough to get you started in the right direction.
If you decide to try the natural skin care products that I have mentioned above, I think you will notice a positive difference in your skin. Then you can let your skin tell you what to trust. After all, it's your skin's health that is of primary importance.
Aging Gracefully: Skin Care in Your 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, and Beyond
How to keep your skin looking great!
Invest some time and care!
Everyone wants to have younger looking skin. Unfortunately, even the most expensive skin care products, with all their claims of 'reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles', can't turn back the years. However, don't despair! There are steps that we can all take to make sure our skin looks healthy and vibrant and stays wrinkle-free for longer. All we've got to do is invest some time and care in looking after it.
It is important to understand the basic function of our skin in order to look after it properly. The skin is our body’s largest organ and comprises three major layers:
The Epidermis: This layer has five sub-layers; the outer layer consists of mainly dead cells which are continuously shed and replaced by cells beneath. The epidermis is also responsible for ‘water proofing’ your skin, protecting your skin from potential invasion of microbes and generate new skin cells which move from the deep layer of the epidermis to the outer layer, where they are eventually shed.
The Dermis: Is the ‘middle layer of the skin and is composed of connective tissue containing collagen and elastin. The dermis is thick in the palms and soles and very thin in the eyelids. It contains blood vessels, nerves, glands, and hair follicles.
The Subcutaneous layer: This layer consists of areolar and adipose tissue. Fibres from the dermis extend down into the subcutaneous layer and anchor the skin to it. The subcutaneous layer, in turn, attaches to underlying tissues and organs.
Aging of the skin
There are several factors influencing how quickly our skin ages, ranging from genetic factors, your natural skin type, as well as external factors such as exposure to sunlight, environmental factors and whether you smoke or not. In general, pale skins wrinkle faster than darker skins, which are protected by increased amounts of pigment and lipids.
Another vital factor is, of course, our age. Our skin looks and functions very differently at 20 as opposed to when we are 60.
Below is a skin care plan of how to look after your skin as the decades go by and how to adapt your skin care regime accordingly.
Looking after your skin in your 20s
Your 20s is a great time for your skin. You've left behind the adolescence acne and your skin has a radiant, youthful glow and the epidermis is well toned.
However, this is not the time to be complacent. In your 20s skin cell renewal drops by up to 28 per cent, dead skin cells are not as easily shed and external factors are starting to have a greater impact, leaving your skin slightly duller.
According to dermatologists, 80 per cent of all aging can be directly related to exposure to sunlight. Therefore, it is a good idea to avoid the mid-day sun, or if you have to be out in the heat of the day (especially in countries like Australia), than cover up. Penetrating UVA rays will start to damage collagen fibres and elastin coils in your skin.
Smoking one factor you can control and now would be a good time to quite. Smoking inhibits oxygen getting to the outer layer of your skin and has a premature aging effect. In addition, smoking can cause fine lines around the mouth over the years and this is to be avoided – if you want to keep your good looks.
Looking after your skin in your 30s
By the time you get to your 30s skin cell turnover has slowed. Environmental damage from pollution, smoke and sunlight are starting to take their toll on the dermis, causing collagen fibres to loosen so that skin starts to loose its tone and develop fine lines and wrinkles. When you smile, subcutaneous fat forms ridges and refuse to bounce back as readily as it once did. Your first wrinkles may start to appear.
By now you should have established a daily skincare regime that involves exfoliating (two or three times a week), cleansing, moisturising and sun protection for your skin. In your 30s, it's important to maintain a balanced diet consisting of fresh fruits, vegetables, grains and fish, which are high in antioxidants such as Vitamins A, B, C and E. These Vitamins counteract free radicals in your body that help the skin to repair itself, produce the enzymes that stabilise collagen production, and stay moist and healthy. For further protection, try using a day crème, such as one that contains vitamin E, for example: Wildcrafted’s Age Defying Essence.
Alcohol should only be consumed in moderation as it deprives your skin of vital nutrients and may cause your facial blood vessels to become dilated leading to permanent, red ‘spider veins’ on your cheeks and in men often across the nose.
Maintaining well hydrated tissues by drinking plenty of water each and every day (3 litres a day is not at all excessive) is vital to retain moisture in your skin. In addition, you should ensure that you get enough quality sleep.
Looking after your skin in your 40s
In your 40s, collagen fibres decrease in number, stiffen, break apart, and form into a shapeless, matted tangle. Elastic fibres lose some of their elasticity, thicken into clumps, and fray. The result is the skin forms crevices and furrows known as lines and wrinkles. In addition, loss of fat in the subcutaneous layer leaves your skin more fragile, whereas the dermis will continue to lose its elasticity. A rich nourishing night crème, such as Wildcrafted’s rejuvenating night crème, becomes a vital part of your skin care regime.
During this time the stratum corneum (the outer layer of the epidermis) starts to grow even thicker, as dead skin cells hang around for longer. If you are not already using an exfoliant regularly, now is a good time to get into the habit of exfoliating your skin regularly using a facial scrub – 2-3 times a week is all that’s necessary. You could also use a cream containing Rose oil, Jojoba oil or similar, as these contain natural AHA’s (alpha hydroxy acids) and to help remove dead skin cells.
As deeper wrinkles start to form, you may wish to use a complete skin care system, which systematically helps you to nourish and moisturise your skin on all levels. Choose natural skin care products for your daily skin care regime, as you do not want to introduce unnecessary toxins into your system by using products full of unpronounceable chemicals. Quality natural skin care systems, such as Wildcrafted’s range of natural skin care systems should be matched to your specific skin type.
Looking after your skin in your 50s and above
As we reach our 50s and beyond, the hair and nails grow more slowly. Langerhans cells (involved in the immune response, dwindle in number, thus decreasing the immune responsiveness of older skin. Decreased size of sebaceous (oil) glands leads to dry and broken skin that is more susceptible to infection.
In women, after the menopause, decreased oestrogen levels mean that skin lose its plumpness and tone, and it may be left dry, itchy and more sensitive to allergens.
At this stage in your life it is important to take that extra care of your skin’s health. Mature skin is more fragile, prone to injury and infection and bruises easily. As if this was not bad enough, it also takes longer to heal. Taking care of your skin will reduce the aging effect; keep it healthier as well as more resistant to injury and infections. Remember, a face that has a lived in look is much more attractive than a Botox face and character is much more beauty.
Skin Care Products – How to Get the Benefits of a Spa Treatment in the Comfort of Your Own Home
Everyone wants to look younger and more attractive - it's a fact of life! Unfortunately many people either cannot afford expensive spa treatments and appointments with skin care professionals, or they just don't have time for them. And let's be honest: the term "chemical peel" does not sound that appealing.
To give your skin that youthful, healthy appearance that everyone desires there are a wide range of home skin care products designed for anti aging benefits. Whether it's a deep cleaning of your skin, facial toning to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, removal of toxins, or something to smooth your rough, cracked heels, affordable product solutions are available that enable you to get the beautiful skin you desire in the comfort of your own home.
Deep Cleaning with a Home Microdermabrasion Kit
Microdermabrasion is method of cleaning skin that has recently crossed over from celebrities to the general population. During the treatment, tiny rough grains are used to "buff" away the top layer of dead skin cells to reveal another layer of skin cells that are in the process of maturing. Often this treatment is referred to as the "instant facelift" because it is a more cost effective and less invasive procedure than plastic surgery, chemical peels, and Botox injections. Popular in skin treatment centers, salons, and day spas, microdermabrasion treatments can cost anywhere from 100 to 200 dollars or more.
With the creation of home microdermabrasion systems, anyone can enjoy the benefits of this skin care method without the cost of professional treatments or the hassle of scheduling an appointment. Beverly Hills salon owners Amby Longhofer and Dean Rhodes saw the need for a home system that would benefit clients who could not afford the costly treatments and who wanted to accelerate the results of the treatments. They created the DermaNew Microdermabrasion Kit and developed a line of creams and cleansers to be used with it. The DermaNew tool is compact and battery powered for easy use with interchangeable heads for different applications. It is two-sided for both high and low frequency applications and is water-resistant for use in the shower.
The DermaNew Microdermabrasion Kit is available in two versions: the DermaNew Start New Total Body Experience System and the Dermanew Microdermabrasion Total Body Experience Kit. Both versions of the kit include different attachments for the resurfacing tool and an assortment of the cleansers and creams, but the Total Body Experience Kit contains more of each.
Skin Toning with Microcurrent Facial Machines
Electronic Muscle Stimulation (or "EMS") has been used as a form of physical therapy and rehabilitation by therapists for quite some time to stimulate and strengthen muscles in their patients. In recent years the same technology has been utilized for fitness by products such as the Slendertone Flex Ab Belt to tone hard to work abdominal muscles. It has also been utilized by skin care professionals as a form of anti aging therapy - the electrical micro currents tone the muscles of the face and increase the body's collagen output, improving the skin's elasticity and giving it a healthier, more youthful appearance.
Typically microcurrent facial machines are for clinical or salon use, but there are some models such as the NuFace Microcurrent Skin Toning Device that are the designed for use in the home. Compact, handheld, and powerful, the NuFace is the only product that is FDA approved for facial toning. It uses safe, painless, low-level electrical currents to "reprogram" the face muscles to almost their original shape. Unlike the facial toning machines use in clinics and salons, the NuFace Microcurrent Skin Toning Device does not require additional wires and probes, so it easy to use practically anywhere.
Far Infrared Heat Therapy Removes Toxins for Healthier Skin
When most people think of sweating, one thing comes to mind: gross! In reality, sweating is an important function of the human body. It cools the skin when it gets hot and helps to remove toxins from your system. The removal of toxins can be very beneficial to the health and overall appearance of your skin.
Far Infrared Heat Therapy is one of the most effective ways to get the body to sweat and rid itself of toxins. The infrared rays have the ability to penetrate deep into human tissue and heat it from the inside without heating the air in between, triggering sweat glands and stimulating your body's production of collagen. By heating the body without drastically heating the air around it this process makes the use of far infrared saunas much more comfortable than traditional saunas. While traditional saunas typically heat the room itself up to a stifling 220 degrees Fahrenheit, infrared saunas typically stay between 110 and 150 degrees. This difference in temperature makes the treatment much more comfortable and enables the user to stay in longer. Far infrared saunas for the home are widely available, very reasonably priced, and are easy for practically anyone to put together.
The DPL - Deep Penetrating Light Therapy System also uses far infrared heat therapy but in a much smaller form. Two panels that sit on top of a stand are covered with over 150 infrared LED lights. The panels can be removed for use on different parts of the body, but the use of the stand makes this product ideal for focusing on removing toxins from your face. A treatment of 15 - 30 minutes per day can produce noticeable results in a few weeks. The DPL - Deep Penetrating Light Therapy System is great for treating acne and helping to reduce the appearance of acne scars.
Smoothing Dry Cracked Heels without Paying for a Pedicure
Daily living is harsh on your feet. While you may not realize it, your feet get punished all day long, especially if your job requires you to stand up a lot or you wear sandals often. Dry, cracked heels can be painful, uncomfortable, and awful looking, but not everyone has the money to spend on frequent manicures.
Devices such as the Artemis Woman Heel Smoother Pro Pedicure Device enable users to get spa quality results in the comfort of their own home. Best of all, many of these devices cost the same as one professional pedicure. The Artemis Woman Heel Smoother Pro is a motorized device that includes two crystal covered tips to remove dry skin and smooth calluses. Unlike other pedicure devices, the Heel Smoother Pro does not use any blades or harsh chemicals. Besides the two tips, it includes a one ounce jar of Topaz Foot Butter to help with the revitalization of your feet. The Artemis Woman Heel Smoother Pro is the first product of its kind to be awarded the American Podiatric Medical Association Seal of Acceptance.
No matter what your budget or schedule is like, you can enjoy the benefits of regular spa treatments. Easy to use and affordable, these devices enable you to save money while getting the same results as the skin care professionals in the comfort of your own home.
Skin Deep Cosmetic Beauty: Permanent Makeup and Eyebrow Design
The importance of eyebrows as a powerful beauty asset is often overlooked.
Eyebrows can be shaped to pull together all of the elements of the face into balance,
giving your best features glory and the flaws respectful supporting roles. People
with thin, partial or no eyebrows often choose to use pencil or powder to create
their eyebrows daily and even multiple times daily since this makeup tends to
smudge or disappear. Many of these people are ending that daily ritual with
permanent makeup. Permanent makeup, also known as cosmetic tattoo or micro
pigmentation, is used to create a variety of changes in the face. Eyebrow
enhancement is an extremely popular permanent makeup procedure.
Eyebrow Design Need Only Be Done Once
In her book Bobbi Brown Beauty, Ms. Brown writes, "....a well-groomed, well-defined
brow can be extremely flattering and add considerable strength to a woman's eyes.
It can open up her face so that she actually needs less makeup. A well-shaped brow
can also help lift deep-set eyes or maximize small eyes. There are even instances
where a lifted, manicured brow has had the same effect as a surgical eyelift." Good
brows are rarely accomplished by guesswork. A permanent makeup artist must be
adept in the art and the science of designing the shape, color and placement for
beautiful symmetrical eyebrows that enhance through the decades. A well-chosen
neutral eyebrow will flatter you through all your hair color changes. Adjustments in
the color of your permanent makeup can be made, if necessary, when you have a
touch up on it every one to five years.
Cosmetic Tattoo, A Versatile Solution
The causes of missing hair in the eyebrows are many-genes, illness, over-plucked,
age related hair loss and physical trauma for instance. An inspired and talented
cosmetic tattoo artist can work with the "landscape" of the brow area be it totally
blank, scarred or deeply wrinkled. A lifting arch can be put into straight or droopy
eyebrows, width into thin ones, length into short ones and symmetry into
asymmetrical ones. Whatever the case may be, tattoo offers a precision that is
difficult to obtain and keep with regular makeup. Tattooed eyebrows stay put
whether the design is strong and precise or subtle and natural looking. Eyebrows
can be applied in delicate hair strokes, a powder fill or a combination of the two,
always using more than one color of pigment to create the illusion of dimension. As
much as possible of one's natural brow hair is incorporated into the design. The
solution of permanent eyebrows is used by men, as well as women.
Make A Statement
Eyebrows not only frame the eyes, but when shaped appropriately for a face they
bring the entire face into focus, giving a person more presence. The eyebrow
design may even serve to qualify that presence as, for instance, down-to-earth,
glamorous, soft or assertive. In other words, eyebrows can influence the way people
perceive you. In fact, eyebrows can influence the way you perceive yourself. Even
when you know beauty is on the inside, you want to look your best. Confidence can
change the impression you leave in all of your social and professional interaction.
Positive, healthy self-esteem allows you to focus on important goals, instead of
stress about looking old, tired or unattractive. Legendary makeup artist Kevyn
Aucoin said, "the most dramatic thing you could do to change your look is to shape
your eyebrows."
Always Plan Ahead
A permanent makeup procedure is a process that most commonly requires two
sessions, usually three or four weeks apart for permanent eyebrows. In the first
session the design is applied and in the second session color, shape and detail is
refines. Building the eyebrows in stages can minimize or eliminate altogether that
oh-so-scary dark eyebrow stage. You need not feel self-conscious about your
appearance at any point in the process. If you are planning to have surgery to lift
the brow, eyes or full face complete the surgery and the healing process before
adding permanent cosmetics to your face. When planning to have Botox,
chemotherapy or radiation therapy get your cosmetic tattoos applied first. In
regards to laser treatments, discuss these during your consultation.
