Rating Skin Care Products For Aging Skin Care

Aging skin care should be of the gentlest approach. When rating skin care products, I give low scores to those that contain abrasives and irritants. This is because older skin is more easily damaged.

How to Repair Damaged Skin

The idea of using chemical peels, exfoliation and other irritants is simply illogical. You want to repair damage, not cause more. Here's a brief look at how you can do that.

Antioxidants

Oxidation makes us look older and deteriorates our body's organs. We could live longer and look better if we could prevent oxidation.

We can't prevent it entirely. If we could, we could live forever and our appearances would never change. But, we can slow the process down with antioxidants.

Anti aging skin care creams should be rich in antioxidants. Look for natural vitamin E, Coenzyme Q10, enzymes found in honey, elements in grape seed oil, fruit extracts and other botanicals, when you are comparing and rating skin care products.

Protein Complexes

Proteins are the building blocks for new skin cells. Skin cell production normally slows down with age. A protein called keratin, manufactured through a patented process that allows it to remain active, has been shown in clinical studies to increase the presence of new skin cells by 160% in only three days.

When I'm rating skin care products, I always give high scores to those that contain "Functional Keratin". Of course, there aren't many of them on the market. Sometimes, it's tough to find effective aging skin care products, but it's worth the effort.

Kelp

What can kelp extracts do to beautify and protect your skin's appearance? A specific type, called wakame, has been shown to prevent the breakdown of hyaluronic acid in the skin. That amino acid is responsible for the skin's strength. Without it, faces begin to sag.

When rating skin care products, I always look for those that contain wakame kelp extract. While I've found many anti aging skin care creams that contain seaweed extract, most companies don't list the type of seaweed used. If you want the best, look for wakame.

More Antioxidants

You really cannot have too many antioxidants. Older cells contain more free radicals, which contribute to oxidative stress. They also contain fewer antioxidants. So, free radicals are more likely to do damage.

One of the interesting things about Functional Keratin is that it's also an antioxidant, a very unique one, at that. Normally, it takes one antioxidant-molecule to counter one free radical molecule, but a molecule of Functional Keratin can counter millions of them. There's simply nothing else like it.

Avoid Artificial Preservatives and Added Fragrances

This is always good advice, but it becomes even more important as we get older. Artificial preservatives and fragrances account for the majority of adverse and allergic reactions. People's tolerance for these allergens deteriorates with age.

High rating skin care products are free of artificial preservatives and added fragrances. Use a dab of perfume, but choose unscented lotions and creams. Artificial preservatives are unnecessary, as long as anti aging skin care cream is antioxidant-rich. Natural vitamin E and grape seed oil protect the other ingredients, as well as your face. - Margaret Bell

Ways to Choose the Best Beauty Skin Care Products

People are becoming very conscious about their skin. Every one wants to look their best as this gives them the confidence to face others. There are many beauty skin care products that are available in the market including chemical based as well as natural products. When you are going to purchase a cream or a lotion you need to be very careful regarding certain things. You need to select the product in such a way that it will help your skin to regain its beauty back.

Beauty skin care products that are chemical based are filled with chemicals that are harmful to the skin. It does give back results very fast, but the fact is that at later stages, it will cause other skin disorders. You skin starts showing signs of ageing like appearance of wrinkles, sagging etc when the collagen and elastin levels get depleted. You should take care in not using products that contain collagen in it because collagen cannot be taken into the body through the skin.

You need to choose the right beauty skin care products. The best way to do so would be to inspect the ingredients that make the product. A product that has natural sources will have three main components namely coenzyme Q10, Cynergy TK and Phytessence Wakame. These are vital for the skin as they help in increasing the production of collagen in your skin which is the only way to replenish the reduced quantity.

Cynergy TK is referred to as functional keratin which is very vital for the stimulation of collagen production. It forms a layer in the skin and hides your wrinkles. Phytessence Wakame and Coenzyme Q10 have important properties of anti oxidation and inhibiting the activity of an acid which causes tissue damage respectively. All these components along with components such as grapeseed oil, Babbassu oil, vitamin E etc are vital in rejuvenating your skin.

Skin Care For Men – the Untold Secrets to Getting Products That Make Men Look Masculine

For several generations men have walked away from skin care products made specifically for them.

They might have spent money on a so-called "male" shampoo or under arm deodorant, or splashed on after-shave. But they haven't bought skin care for men packaged as masculine creams or robust lotions.

I know this because I remember the chuckles around the newsroom I worked in as a reporter in the 1970s when our chief reporter asked me to do a story and model a new product -- make-up for men. No one had marketed it before and next day the paper ran a big photo of me in the beautician's chair looking quite "different" in coloring and lipstick .

Well I lived down the sly jokes, and was not surprised when male make-up didn't take off as a roaring commercial success. Men were just not ready for that then.

Today make-up still doesn't sell to men. But skin care for men is a different story.

There's been a significant change in our society, and the creams that can transform your face and hands -- skin care for men in stylish, appropriate tubes and jars -- are increasingly making it out of the stores into the bedrooms of men.

And we're talking about skin care for men. Not the products our wives and girl friends leave on the bathroom counter. Because female skin is totally different and men's skin and creams have to deal with specific male problems. A woman's skin is less oily than a man's, thinner, the pores are smaller, and wrinkles and lines less deep (thank goodness!). They need different creams.

Specific male skin care products have been developed in the last 15 years that make positive, effective skin care for men a real possibility.

The better of these products address the three main causes of aging skin in men: a loss of collagen and elastin, lower levels of hyaluronic acid, and oxidation due to the presence of free radicals.

So as you look around for skin care products use these three factors as benchmarks. If a product doesn't attack one of these three put it to one side. And if you find one that addresses all three you have struck gold.

There are two ways to address the loss of collagen and elastin, which are proteins that give your skin it's youthful look when you're young but start to break down after some years and leave your face looking not-young (or, to put it bluntly, aged).

Most skin care for men products tell you can rub collagen in. This is the first attempt at this problem and its bad science. Because the molecules of this vital youth-giving protein are too big to be pushed through the pores in your male skin.

The best products go to this problem nature's way -- they have ingredients that will stimulate the body itself to start producing collagen and elastin again, and make your skin look younger from the inside out.

I'd recommend this second approach. And a specific newly-developed substance, called CynergyTK" that has proven itself in the lab as a particularly effective way of smoothing wrinkles in male skin.

Boosting hyaluronic acid is another helpful way to make your skin soft and less aged.

A good way to do this is to use a seaweed extract called phytessence wakame. This inhibits a particular enzyme that breaks down the natural hyaluronic acid in your skin. So as the extract blocks the steady breakdown of the acid, your skin will slowly take on a youthfulness again. This is also proven in clinical trials.

Finally, find a product that gets rid of free radicals.

There are lots of them out there. I would recommend CoEnzyme Q10, and a particular kind of Co10 called Nano-Lipobelle H EQ10 because is penetrates deeper than most others into the layers of your skin. Not all the Co10s will do this, so look around the labels. My recommended Co10 will vacuum up free radicals and since they are no longer influencing how your skin looks, it will take on a youthfulness again.

Your next step? To take what I've outlined here and start looking on the labels of skin care for men products. Don't settle for creams that claim to soften skin and give you a smooth young look again but don't address the three causes of aging in male skin.

If you'd like to read more, I have some extra information about this at my web site, elegant-skincare.com, and a recommendation of a skin care for men product. Click there now and get a really good understanding of what to look for on those labels as you hunt for good skin care products.

Choosing Skin Care Cosmetics Products

Let's face it, many of us can use help in choosing skin care cosmetics products. Many people will try almost anything and pay almost any price to look younger, healthier, and hide the fact that we all are aging. Our skin changes as we get older. Our supply of collagen and elastin starts to dwindle.

Cosmetics are defined as products that are used to make the face and body beautiful. They can also improve the physical appearance. Cosmetics include lip color, eye color, blush for the cheeks, powder, and face paint to name just a few.

Walk down any aisle in any store and you will see that there are countless products for skin and body health. Each manufacturer making claims that their product will do the best job when in reality they really do nothing, or may even be harmful to your skin. Some manufacturers put just enough beneficial components to be able to legally list them on the product label.

I imagine you have heard, read the label, know what you are buying, and other useful suggestions. This is no less true for skin care cosmetics products. It is important for you to know what is in that cream, lotions, soap, or serum that you are putting on your body.

Phytessence Wakame is an exotic kelp that comes from the Japanese Sea. There is a harmful enzyme in the human body called hyaluronidase. It works by breaking down the fibers of both collagen and elastin. Hyaluronic acid is the "glue" of the fibers of collagen as well as elastin: without it the fibers break down causing lines and dark circles under the eyes.

Cynergy TK is proven through various studies to stimulate your body to grow its own collagen and elastin. This keeps the skin firm as well as flexible. It also helps the skin to hold its natural moisture.

CoQ10 also known as Coenzyme Q10. In its original form it cannot penetrate the skin and would not be of benefit. The nano-emulsified form called Nano-Lipobelle H-EQ10 easily penetrates the skin up to 7 layers deep. It is also a very powerful antioxidant and devours the free radicals in your skin.

Phytessence Wakame, Cynergy TK, and Nano-Lipobelle H-EQ10 together make one of the most powerful anti-aging compounds available. It can also improve the way your skin feels and looks.

As there are beneficial ingredients, there are also harmful ingredients. Some of them are known to be carcinogenic. These ingredients include mineral oil, also called paraffin's and does not allow the skin to breathe. Parabens and alcohols are also harmful. Dioxane is known in the state of California to be carcinogenic.

When you are choosing skin care cosmetics products, you want to choose those that do not have preservatives such as parabens, chemicals, and alcohols. You want to look for products that are all natural and have no fillers. The ingredients Phytessence Wakame, Nano-Lipobelle H-EQ10 (a form of coenzyme Q10), and Cynergy TK should be present but simply being in the products isn't enough, they should be present in high concentrations to be of any benefit.

Now that you are armed with some information, you can now go on your own and check out the countless products available. Search online and seek recommendations from your doctor and/or friends. Once you have a product, and you may have to try a few, you can also check out customer reviews.

Antioxidant Skin Care Products

Because of the skin's status of being the body's primary defense against bacterial or chemical invasion, it has one of the most complex systems of first and secondary reactions to foreign intrusion.

Reactive oxygen species are abundant from the sun's rays. These species pass through the skin and leave trails of free radicals along the way. The species replace the cells' components and change the balance in the cell's system. Because the body's enzymes could not work fast enough to regain the correct balance in the cell system, the cell eventually wrinkles and dies. The species damage the DNA structure in cells, producing abnormal ones that sometimes develop into tumor and cancer cells. And because these reactive oxygen species are truly reactive in nature, their damage can be swift, and they could cover a large area in a short time.

Because the skin is the most "battered" part of the body in terms of the number of forces such as germs and dust and harmful ultraviolet rays that threaten to destroy it, a lot of scientists have developed a wide variety of antioxidant skin care products. Lotions and sun blocks incorporated with vitamin E are developed, which, when applied before exposure to the sun, can minimize entry of harmful ultraviolet rays into the skin. If the skin is exposed without application, on the other hand, these antioxidant skin care products, which have high level of vitamin E, can reduce the reddening caused by sunburns. These are also good minimizing swelling as long as the product is applied within two to three minutes after exposure.

Antioxidants skin care products enriched in coenzyme Q10 are also good for the skin. Coenzyme Q10 is a good antioxidant found in natural cells. However, as a person grows old or is exposed more often to the sun, the amount of coenzyme Q10 decreases. The best way to replenish the coenzyme Q10 is to apply a product rich in this coenzyme such as a moisturizer. For others, choosing the best moisturizer can be difficult, but reading the labels in the bottles will help in determining if coenzyme Q10 is present or not.

Lotions and moisturizers enriched with panthenol are also good for fighting aging caused by reactive oxygen species. Serums and enhancers that contain vitamin C have L-ascorbic acid, which reduces the levels of reactive oxygen species coming from the sun's ultraviolet rays. The latter, moreover, becomes more effective when paired with products containing vitamin E. Nevertheless, the best lotion is the one that contains both vitamins C and E.

Grapeseed oil is another ingredient that would make a skin care product effective in ridding the skin of reactive oxygen species. Because of its oil properties, grapeseed oil coats the skin and form an invisible barrier that would keep bacteria and dirt out. Grapeseed oil also contains vitamin E, which maintains the natural health of the skin.

When searching for that perfect antioxidant to help your skin, it is best to research on them before purchasing. A lot of advertisements may provide false information. Furthermore, better learn how to read the labels, so you can also know the antioxidant components they contain.

Skin Care Information – Who Do You Trust?

Skin care information is easy to come by.  Reliable skin care info, on the other hand, is another thing entirely.

When you walk through the cosmetics area of a department store, each sales person behind the counter is telling you their product is the best.  Then you see print ads with celebrity endorsements.  And they too are telling you their product is the best.

Are they all right?  I don't think so and I doubt if you think so either.

Cosmetic surgeons will recommend Botox, collagen injections, chemical peels, dermabrasion and other procedures that they can charge you for in their offices.  Some of them have designed their own line of products, which they will, of course, say are the best.

In this article I want to share with you what products I think you should avoid and what procedures can cause adverse reactions.

So, here's my skin care info.

Exfoliation is bad!

Whether you have acne, blemishes, scarring or wrinkles, many "beauty experts" recommend exfoliation in their skin care info.

Dermatologists don't have a problem with it.  Cosmetic surgeons use similar procedures.  They all say that the process removes a layer of dead skin, exposing a new layer that will be smoother and "fresher" looking.

So, why is it bad?

First, the whole idea is silly.  The epidermis, the outermost layer of your face and body, is composed entirely of dead skin-cells laid together in a brick and mortar fashion, held together by keratin, hyaluronic acid and other proteins.

If you do not bathe regularly, dead cells can build up and block the pores, causing pimples and blemishes.  But excessive scrubbing causes redness, itching, and irritation, scarring and underlying damage that will eventually become wrinkles.

Like dermabrasion and chemical peels, regular exfoliation increases your sensitivity to UV radiation from the sun.  Hopefully, that's enough said.

Petrolatum is bad!

In skin care info provided by cosmetic companies, I have seen them say that petrolatum is an effective moisturizer and good for your skin's health.

In skin care information from dermatologists, I have seen them suggest that large amounts interfere with the skin's natural rejuvenation process.

In customer reviews, I have read about pimples and break-outs.  Complaints range from "eventually makes my skin drier than ever" to "feels too greasy".

Cosmetic companies could correct these problems if they would stop using petrolatum, mineral oils and other byproducts of gasoline production.

For healthy skin care info, I turn to the experts on natural compounds.  These,in fact, are moisturizing and can be used on any skin-type without the risk of excessive oiliness or dryness.  These natural products include grape seed and jojoba oil.

For weekly deep cleansing, clay extracts "suck" dirt out of the pores and absorb excessive oils, without causing irritation.

To prevent and counter the signs of aging, coenzyme Q10, vitamin E, honey and other natural antioxidants will prevent and repair free radical damage, the underlying cause of all of the outward signs of age.

I could fill a book with healthy skin care information, but that's enough to get you started in the right direction.

If you decide to try the natural skin care products that I have mentioned above, I think you will notice a positive difference in your skin.  Then you can let your skin tell you what to trust.  After all, it's your skin's health that is of primary importance.

Collagen Ultra Beauty Remedies

They say beauty is only skin-deep. Your skin is an extremely important part of your body that needs a lot of attention and treatment, in order to stay healthy and glowing.

Your complexion reflects a lot including how healthy your lifestyle is, and how well groomed you are. While relatively temporary and undemanding, skin problems, such as pimples, can be dealt with easily while other more serious problems like skin darkening and wrinkling cannot.

You can treat pimples at home, using household items like toothpaste, lemon juice, garlic paste or a mixture of honey and shredded apple.

Who doesn't want beautiful, younger looking skin? But skin problems often brought on by age can completely alter the way you look, and adversely affect your self-esteem.

For treating wrinkles, and early signs of skin aging, collagen ultra beauty remedies may be the best option.

While factors like pollution, harmful sunrays, and an unhealthy lifestyle can adversely affect the condition of your skin and cause signs of skin aging, like wrinkles, the most common cause for this is falling collagen-elastin level in your skin due to advancing age.

Collagen and elastin are proteins present in our skin that help in keeping skin firm, healthy and supple.

While initially, your skin is sufficiently supplied with the proteins collagen and elastin, so that it looks healthy and young, with age, the collagen elastin levels in your skin start dipping, which eventually results in various skin problems like wrinkles, bloating, etc.

Collagen ultra beauty remedies can help restore the collagen-elastin levels in your skin, restoring damaged skin cells, and preventing more damage and premature aging of your skin.

If you want to use a collagen-elastin skin remedy, choose your product carefully. While Collagen ultra beauty remedies can be an effective solution to your skin problems, a lot of the products available in stores, do not have the necessary ingredients in order to induce the production of these proteins

Be cautious of products and companies that advertise that their product contains collagen.

The skin cannot absorb collagen or elastin externally, therefore application of such a product on your skin, even if it does contain collagen, is rather pointless.

Collagen ultra beauty remedies have been proven effective by research, as well as user feedback. Make sure the product you pick contains ingredients that can effectively alter the collagen levels in your skin, and check skin aging. Cynergy TK, Phytessence Wakame and Coenzyme Q10 are some of the ingredients that you can look for in your beauty product.

Be careful to avoid products containing alcohols, parabens, fragrances, and dioxane since they are neither effective ingredients nor particularly good for your skin.

Your skin needs treatment and care too, perhaps more so because it is constantly exposed to pollution and cosmetic products. To check early signs of skin aging and to keep your skin taut and looking fresh, try collagen beauty remedies. Although the choosing of the product demands a lot of attention, selecting the right collagen-elastin product can do wonders for your skin.
