Quick Weight Loss Program — Tips to find good ones

If you are looking in to a lose weight quick program, there are a few things that you should keep in mind when making your decision:

A weight loss program should include all of the foods recommended by the United States Department of Agriculture and should allow the dieter to eat enough calories to keep their metabolism working full force.

Set goals- If the program you are looking in to wants you to write down your weight loss goals, you may have found the right diet plan. Studies have shown that by setting goals for yourself, and writing them down, you are more apt to stick with your diet and reach your goals. Try setting small goals each week (such as to eat less fat or lose 1.5 pounds), these mini goals are not as overwhelming as larger goals, like losing 50 pounds in three months, or whatever your final goal may be. Also, by achieving these smaller goals, we see that we are making progress and are more likely to continue trying than if we don't set any.

Calories are good- Yes, all quick weight loss program rules will tell you that you should limit your calorie intake per day if you are going to lose weight. But, cutting your calories too much can actually stall weight loss just as much as consuming too many calories per day. A good rule of thumb is to eat no less than 1,600 calories per day for men and 1,200 calories per day for women. Beware that some of these "lose weight fast" diets can be very unhealthy and can cause health problems of their own.

Exercise to speed losing weight - For our bodies to gain one pound, we must consume 3,500 more calories than our bodies burn. So, for every pound we want to lose, we must take 3,500 calories from our bodies. This can be achieved by either consuming fewer calories, or by raising our metabolism by exercise. A smart dieter on a quick weight loss program will cut calories to a healthy level and incorporate more exercise into their every day routines to flush more calories from their bodies. Of course, you can overdo exercise, so moderation is key for healthy weight loss.

A quick weight loss program must be healthy and allow the dieter to make healthy choices. Any diet that claims that a person can lose an unbelievable amount of calories in a very short amount of time is probably going to give unsound and unhealthy advice. A dieter should not have to cut out entire food groups from their diet to lose weight. Remember that our bodies work like machines, and all food groups serve a purpose in keeping our bodies functioning at an optimal level. By cutting calories too low, doing extreme amounts of exercising and/or only eating certain foods we can actually cause our bodies to shut down and stop working correctly. Don't fall for the gimmicks. Work hard, set goals, and believe in yourself, and you can achieve anything you set your mind to.

Lose Weight Fast by Fast Weight Loss Diets — Are you ready?

Fast weight loss diets are popular because they promise quick weight loss with little effort. While some of these weight loss plans are not healthy, and can even be dangerous, there are some fast weight loss diets that can actually work. The key is to find a diet plan that stresses healthy eating habits instead of indicating that a person must only eat a certain food group or cut calories to dangerous levels in order to lose the weight. Here are a few helpful hints to help you decide when searching for a diet plan that will fit your lifestyle best.

Being healthy is important - Fast weight loss diets should be safe or they are not worth trying. A safe diet should include all daily recommended allowances of vitamins and minerals, as well as protein and fiber. Not following nutritional guidelines can lead to malnourishment and other long term health problems.

Get enough calories- It is very important to not cut your calories too low. By cutting your calories to less than 1,000 per day for woman and 1,600 per day for men, you can cause irreversible harm to your body. Never go below this number per day or for long periods of time. Cutting your calories too low can cause your metabolism to malfunction, thereby stalling your weight loss efforts. It can also cause many other side effects that can do more harm than good.

Eating fruit and veggies - If you find fast weight loss diets that stress eating fruits and vegetables, they are probably going to work well for you while making sure you are not jeopardizing your health. Fruits and veggies provide many vitamins, minerals, and fiber which are required for optimal health.

Low fat is what you should aim at - Low fat diets stress the negativity of fats in the diet. While it is true that the body does need a little bit of fat every day, consuming even a moderate amount of fat per day can lead to many health problems, including heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure and more.

Taking dairy product is important- low fat dairy products are actually good for you, contrary to what some diet experts say. Dairy is great for curbing the appetite, provides much needed calcium to the body. Studies show that by consuming foods such as yogurt, cheese, and milk can slow the formation of fat cells and boosts the metabolism.

Eat moderate meat- or at least some kind of protein. Protein helps the body to build and repair tissue and muscles, make hormones and other imperative functions throughout the body. Remember though, that too much animal protein can cause damage to some of our vital organs, and should only be eaten in moderation, if at all.

Be sure to research the diet you choose before deciding on any diet. As always, before trying any of these or other fast weight loss diets, it is very important to visit your doctor so that you can be sure you are healthy enough to diet in this way.

By following a diet that allows you to eat the above mentioned forbidden foods, you will not only be able to keep your metabolism racing and burning calories fast but, you will also overcome that weight loss plateau and even leap over the reason to cheat and gain extra pounds which normally causes you to get discouraged with your diet and quit it.

If this happens we all know what the outcome will be, let's just say it would be twice as hard to lose the weight the next time around because you will gain more weight than you initially started with.

So do yourself a favor and instead of trying to lose weight without giving up foods like ice cream, chocolate cakes and cheesy spaghetti why not try a diet that can teach you how to strategically incorporate these foods in your eating plan so they won't cause harm to you and also keep you from cheating at the same time.

Weight Loss Diets Are Hard – Why? Part 2

We are talking here about diets that should reduce our body weight. And we all know how many of them are all over the place: books, magazines, Internet...

But, nutritionists are not making a diet for every single one us separately, unless you can afford it. So, it is up to you to make a choice and pick one up. You can, and should, consult your doctor, of course. But, the good thing is, you can not make big mistake, all those diets are good, and if you follow them, you will lose weight, no question about that.

So, what to choose?

I believe that many of you tried more then one diet so far. We are usually making a choice based on what we heard or read about some diet. If it worked for them, it would work for me, we hope. But, let us remember what we want from our diet.

We want something that works. We want a healthy diet program that will result with weight loss, that will take off the fat quickly, that delivers what it promises. OK, that is reasonable. The truth is, there is no guaranties that what work for me, will work for you. Or not at that extent, anyway. Every organism is different, metabolism, calories it burns in a day, way of life, it is all affecting result of dieting.

But, we also have to think about our everyday life. Some diets are really hard to follow if you have a job, family, small kids, and some of them are quite expensive or are just taking to much time for meals preparation. Take all that in consideration.

So, the most important thing is to choose a diet that is made by qualified person and the one that you can incorporate in your everyday life. Period.

Remember, the diet is nothing more but nutrition plan of what to eat and when. YOU have to figure it out how to go through it, how to fight with your habits, your everyday life, your urge for your favorite food. And exercise, let's not forget about that!

But, when we make a choice and start with weight loss diet plan, we are changing our everyday routine, our nutrition habits, we can not eat the food we like, when we like, as much as we like. And that is the problem, many people give up after few days, they can not make it. So, choose wisely and when you make the choice, stick to it.

Diet And Weight Loss

People who lose weight quickly by "crash" dieting or other extreme measures usually gain it all back or gain even more of the pounds that they lost because they haven't permanently changed their eating habits. As a general rule though, most nutrition experts recommend never going below 1,000-1,200 calories a day if you're dieting on your own. This explains why it's crucial to diet sensibly with a suitable, rather than a very low calorie intake so that you lose fat rather than muscle.

Losing weight

Weight-loss typically involves the loss of fat, water and muscle. Weight management is about long-term success & will hopefully last a lifetime. Weight gain is often linked to certain medication, such as HRT, the contraceptive pill and steroids.

The risk of developing gallstones is increased by weight loss dieting. The risk of developing gallstones is likely to be increased by losing and gaining back the lost weight, also known as weight cycling.

Following are some of the weight reduction diets:

*Medically supervised diets

*Diets followed independently

*Commercial diet organizations and centers

*Support group for weight loss programs

*Diet supported by drugs and artificial food, prepackaged
foods, foods with low calorie (VLCD), balanced diet plans
supported by food supplements, 'Fad diets', diets medically
supervised, diets provided in hospitals.

Diets

Diet affect the energy intake by limiting nutrition supply to the body. Fiber is an essential component to sustain healthy motion. In most cases diets result in fiasco gaining more weight than what was lost. This is due to the fact that our body is not designed to engage in the constant process of losing and gaining weight. Therefore, diets cannot sustain weight loss and long-term health benefits. The temptation for food and old habits still linger.

The chief purpose of diets is to lose weight. But some of
the athletes diet to gain weight in the form of muscles.
Diets can be used to maintain a stable body weight. Diets
without adequate nutrition, or diets without adequate
calories in it could be dangerous for the kids.

A variety of diets are available. But all weight loss diets
limits the food intake in order to reduce the body weight.
American football players on the other hand, follows a diet
regimen to increase their body weight to give them the
advantage over the other players in the field.

Weight gain diets are suitable for those people who are
recovering from anorexia nervosa, starvation etc. These
individuals focus on gaining their normal body fat, muscle
and essential nutrients as opposed to the athletes.

Dieting

Dieting sets up a psychological state of childhood and
usually fails in the long run, study finds. Dieting
actually causes some people to gain weight.

Some of the side effects of dieting are:

*Feeling hungry and wanting to eat previously given up foods

* Distracted and tired

*Sad and unmotivated

*Dizzy feeling and cold

*Cravings for the deprived food

Doctors emphasize dieting and losing weight before
pregnancy. Hypo caloric diets, especially causes depletion
of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrition, notably, vitamin
B. Dieting is a stress on the body, and over and above the
depletion of vital nutrients affect the child during the
pregnancy, mainly caused due to the changes in hormones in
the dieter. Dieting can affect the breastfeeding after
pregnancy.

Dieting creates more problems than it solves; dieting and
overeating become a vicious circle. Dieters never stop
dieting, and never stop using the dieting industry. Dieters
have double the risk of getting type-2 diabetes compared to
those who are overweight but do not diet.

The best kept secret for an effective and sustainable weight
loss is cleansing. Cleansing is the key to detoxify your
liver and colon and to keep the toxins out of your system.
Start with a healthy eating habit that includes plenty of
nutritious food and greens. This is the best way to staying
healthy with optimum weight, a good alternative to dieting
and weight loss.

Good luck dieting and remember to eat smart.

Weight Loss Diets with Negative Calorie Foods

Negative calorie foods are said to use more calories to digest than the calorie content of the foods themselves, resulting in a negative calorie balance. It is therefore natural to consider a diet containing these foods for weight loss.

A diet is a combination of a balanced selection of foods designed for medical or nutritional reasons. A good diet should include all major food groups. The weight loss diets (with or without negative calorie foods) are made to reduce body fat and weight. Some of the popular weight loss diets are: Atkin's diet, cabbage soup diet, grapefruit diet, Hollywood diet, negative calorie foods diet, Pritikin diet, the South beach diet and the zone diet.

Most of the weight loss diets promote to eat a particular food group and restrict other food groups. Such diets may show temporary results. If you follow these restricted diets for a long time, you may develop some health problems at later stage as these diets do not contain all the necessary nutrients needed for your body.

The secret to losing weight is to eat and drink the right kind of foods until you are satisfied. Skipping of meals is not the answer for weight loss, it can rather deteriorate your health. A healthy weight loss diet plan should include vegetables, fruits, grains, lentils and beans in your diet. Following is a sample daily diet plan that is good for keeping healthy weight and good health, irrespective of whether you follow a diet plan with negative calorie foods or not.

- Skim milk and skim yogurt.

- Salads or boiled vegetables or vegetable soup as starter.

Weight Loss Diabetic Diet

Most people who attempt the weight loss diabetic diet would not have chosen this particular plan except for the fact that they have been diagnosed with diabetes and also need to lose weight. If you happen to fall into this ever growing group of people, you may have already been given the weight loss diabetic diet Exchange System chart. This can help many people who are in this very same position to lose the weight they need while also keeping to the foods that are safe and good for them as diabetics.

The Exchange System works with the Pyramid Food Groups to give you an accurate way to measure your food on a weight loss diet. It works more from the Exchange System than from a caloric view point but that, sometimes, is easier to keep up with. It is this same Exchange System that the principles of the ever popular Weight Watchers program were founded upon. That is one example of just how successful the weight loss diabetic diet can be.

Admittedly, it takes a bit more time to follow the weight loss diabetic diet properly than a lot of other diet plans, but this is not only a diet that will help you to lose weight, it is a diet that will keep you healthy. Another very positive point about the diabetic diet is that it will not only help you lose the weight you need, but it will help you maintain that goal weight once you have reached it. This can be done with only a few adjustments to the Exchange System and you are on your way to a permanently healthy lifestyle.

Will A Carbohydrate Diet Help Achieve Fat Loss?

Low carbohydrate diet plans have shown that it will cause a reduction in body weight within the first 1-2 weeks, but the majority of weight lost is actually water and FAT Loss is not actually sustained. Fat loss will only follow accompanied by a metabolic slowdown. The reduction of water actually decreases the rate of calorie breakdown and you will automatically gain back every lost pound once carbohydrates are integrated back in the diet.

It is not advisable to follow a no-carbohydrate diet for a longer period as it is unhealthy. Inevitably you will find yourself going back into the regular eating plan after several weeks. The actual goal is losing body fat and water weight in fact greatly slows or even prohibits the fat loss process. Weight loss on a low carbohydrate plan also produces a smaller version of your former self rather than enhancing the physical appearance since after the muscle loss, a sagging, unappealing body structure replaces the body. Long term low or no-carbohydrate based diet is dangerous and somewhat impossible to follow.

High carbohydrate diet plans also produce an ineffective response since high carbohydrate ingestion actually suppresses fat burning hormones thereby preventing the release and breakdown of stored calories or fat. The only enzymes produced through a high carbohydrate diet are the fat storing insulin that actually promotes weight gain! Reducing calories by lowering the excess carbohydrate concentration will continue to prevent the release of stored fat, but will gladly burn up healthy muscle tissue and is therefore not advisable for a healthy body. High carbohydrate and low protein diet actually eliminates fat loss, including muscle loss that deprives the body of the necessary minerals it needs to maintain a healthy function.

With fat loss being the common goal, always remember that weight is composed of water, muscle, and fats. Any diet that restricts carbohydrate intake in favor of high protein or excessive fat intake is counterproductive. Diets which eliminate carbohydrates do NOT permanently promote fat loss and may be dangerous.

Exercise works hand in hand with a proper diet that promotes certain acceptable amounts of healthy food. Starvation diets do not promote fat loss also and in the event deprives the body of its essential water and muscular stature. Your weight will most likely drop, with its unhealthy adherence but you have actually deprived your body with the essential need for fluids which after reverting to its normal quantities rapidly increases body fat...CONTINUE

Weight Loss Diets That Succeed

It can be tough these days to find a good weight loss program. There are so many different weight loss diets available today, and some have many variations of themselves available as well. It's no wonder that those hoping to lose some weight around the middle get confused and overwhelmed. With infomercials featuring movies starts and medical professionals pushing the latest card dealing, juice drinking, magnetic belt wearing diet -- it's hard to know which diets can really be trusted.

The truth is that any weight loss diet that is going to succeed has to be based on sound nutrition and movement principles. Our bodies are designed to run on a proper blend of vitamins, minerals, protein and water. If we follow an extreme diet and eliminate one of these groups in favor of another, our bodies will be out of balance and will respond accordingly. Starvation diets may work in the short term, as your body reacts to being physically deprived of what it requires. However, what those diet plans do in the long run is harm your organs and bodily systems that are not receiving the nutrition needed to feed and hydrate your cells.

Diets that succeed in the long term are not diets at all, but rather "ways of living". In order to be healthy, you need to follow certain dietary recommendations, and they should be followed for the balance of your life. The number one reasons most diets fail is because they are so ridiculously developed, that they are impossible to follow for life. Plans that make you eat nothing but meat, or juice, or salad greens are going to be hard to follow a year down the road. You may make it through six months, lose 75 pounds and look great, but what happens when you need to rejoin the real world?

Weight loss diets that depend on a method of elimination are simply starvation diets when you break them down and take a closer look. If you want real long term results with your weight loss, make smart and healthy choices that you can maintain for life.
